Batanes via AirSwift Airline

Cheap but amazing service domestic airlines? Then look no further.

It’s my first time to go to Batanes, and as a traveller, I always consider looking for the cheapest flight available. Luckily, I found an airline with amazing package: domestic flight at Terminal 4, no terminal fee (2 way), with free snacks, free 10kg check-in baggage, and with a roundtrip priced cheap at 9k. I must admit, very enticing indeed. And what I loved about this is the hassle-free booking process. It’s as easy as 1-2-3-book. Just go online, place your preferred dates and book.

Airswift transport, carrying a tag line “fly with friends”, is an Ayala-owned transport, started operations in 2002 as Island Transvoyager is now launching flights to El Nido, Palawan, Cebu, Boracay, Clark and Batanes. It currently has a three 48-fleet ATR 42-600 aircraft and will be adding one aircraft this year for expansion, and plans to launch flights to Sicogon Island in Iloilo.

This aircraft is a propeller type with cool air-conditioning, which offers the widest cabin, superior cushioned comfort seats, and excellent landing and take off experience. Given that this is a propeller type, there’s this distinguish propeller sound, but very manageable and I was able to sleep comfortably.

5:15AM is the departure time, and we got in the airport at 3AM. The line was long, which I didn’t expect. When it was our time, the Airswift ground staff handed our boarding passes and an Airswift sticker, and was able to checked-in at 3:45Am.

Stick the sticker on the visible part of your shirt because upon entering the pre-boarding area, 2 ladies will reach out and give instructions on how to head towards the snack station.

The gates were opened at 5am, it’s a great impression for a first timer that the airline is on time. The shuttle is waiting right outside the gate, which sent us to our plane.

Some shots taken xx miles above the ground.

We arrived at Basco, Batanes soundly at 7AM where our tour van was waiting to fetch us.

When our last day came, we were sent back to the airport. Our gates opened at 7:30 and flew back to Manila safe and on time.

What’s the best way to start and end a vacation? Look for an airline that will surely give a best service at a friendly cost.

Kudos Airswift!
